“In the Graduate Program at USM I learned that my spirituality can co-exist with the other parts of me - regardless of what I do in the world.”(

“My career is in pharmaceutical science and research doing double-blind controlled studies, so it's in a logical, practical, and scientific world. I had a spiritual side that I kept hidden at work. I often felt alone and separate. I started using the skills taught at USM in my workplace. Surprise -- I felt closer to my co-workers! I realized that I was the one who created a boundary that prevented me from having meaningful connections. This shift has made a positive difference in all of my professional relationships. For my Second Year project, I wrote a book, started a coaching practice, and began consulting for physicians who have innovative spiritual concepts, patents, or medical technologies outside of traditional medicine and need help with research and corporate funding. It's deeply rewarding to support cutting-edge ideas that combine spirituality and science! I came to USM with the intention of challenging spirituality. I realize now it was to challenge myself into a new way of being. I'm grateful to myself for doing the work and to USM for providing this exceptional curriculum!” (

“I lived for material achievement and hid behind it. I wasn't happy. I looked like I was from the outside, but I really wasn't. There was something missing. USM's transformational curriculum and loving educational environment assisted me to unravel the limiting beliefs that had fostered my tendency to seek external validation.”(

“Before applying to USM's Graduate Program, I thought I needed credentials and letters behind my name to further my career. I had already written a book and was working as a life coach, but I was starting to bump up against limits. I assumed credentials were the issue. USM's transformational curriculum assisted me to unravel the limiting beliefs that had fostered my tendency to seek external validation. USM supported me in owning that I am a Divine being having a human experience . . . not a human being whose value and worth is based on outer achievement. I focused on healing physical health challenges, creating the deeper friendships I had been longing for, and developing workshops and products that were more creative and heart-centered. This was a complete shift! I also wrote another book and left all other work behind, becoming a full-time author, speaker, and life coach. Because of my USM education, I have deepened my coaching practice tremendously. I am joy-filled both personally and professionally. There are not adequate words to share the level of value I received. I am so grateful.” (

“Six months before the Graduate Program started, my husband left me. I was devastated. I told a friend, 'I can't begin USM. I'm going through all this turmoil.' Her response was, 'USM will help you, especially right now.' During class breaks, I would scream at my husband on the phone. I had an image of myself as a spiritual and conscious person. I had written
Buddha Never Raised Kids and Jesus Didn't Drive Carpool - 7 Principles for Parenting with Soul. How could I be doing this? My Second Year Relationship Project was a profound experience where I shifted from being a victim to a place of true peace about our former marriage. I even spend weekends with my ex-husband, joyfully, with our children. USM's curriculum gave me tools and skills to use in all areas of my life. I am deeply grateful for this remarkable education.” (

“I went into the application process at the University of Santa Monica quite late. My overall question was, 'Is beginning a Master's Program in Spiritual Psychology the right choice for my life right now? Is the homework and travel worth the time investment?' It turns out that USM was just what I needed.”(

“I followed my heart and applied to USM just two weeks before classes started and was accepted into the Program in record time. It was clear very quickly that this was an excellent choice. I found the program to be very supportive for what I wanted to fulfill in my life. Just before I began the M.A. Program, I left my position as a Marketing Communications Manager at Cisco Systems and launched a successful equine-assisted life-coaching practice. One of my specialties is working with cancer survivors since I also have that experience in my own life. The curriculum has helped me to realize I have an open, loving heart. That's a critical skill for a life coach to have. I am now truly living my passion while making a difference for others. I highly recommend USM's Spiritual Psychology Program for anyone who is in the midst of making a life transition and wants the freedom to live a life they've only dreamed of.” (

“My Second Year Project was to become an organizational leadership consultant to the heads of corporations and to facilitate personal and professional growth for my clients. As a national sales manager, I was doing pretty well, but I knew that I could do more. That's where USM came in.”(

“When I first had the thought of becoming a leadership consultant, I was so excited. Then I heard a voice inside me that said, 'That's ridiculous! You can't do that!' Because of the support of my classmates and the structure of the Master's Program, I reengineered myself from the inside out. I left my secure and safe job in sales to do something that was heartfelt and very scary. I was going into an industry that I didn't know much about, and I experienced a lot of self-doubt. I was able to overcome all of this by using the
Soul-Centered Basic Communication Skills I had learned at USM. The program is designed in such a way that I was able to work on all the emotional issues that came up along the way as well. I use my USM skills daily as I facilitate meetings with top executives and assist them in strategically developing their organizations. Today, I have a successful consulting business. I also have a lovely wife and two amazing kids. Life is good, and I'm very grateful to USM!.” (

“Through my participation in the University's Master's Program, I made a significant shift in my approach to my business.”(

“I had a major block to writing -- and this was getting in the way of the growth of my business. With the support of the faculty and fellow students at the University, my experience of writing shifted into something I enjoy and look forward to. As a result of this transformation, I have published three successful books and am working on two more. In the years after graduating from USM, my business doubled in size. I experienced many personal transformations that included shifting my life-long habit of self-judgment. What I value most about my USM education is that the lessons and skills I learned are sustainable. I use them to this day, and those skills assist me in continuing to develop myself and address new challenges that life offers. For me, USM represents true life-long education and integration.” (
