“When I began USM's Graduate Program, I was an attorney working for the Dodgers. After the first weekend, I started using the USM
Soul-Centered Basic Communication Skills on a daily basis. I began to connect much more authentically. As a result, I was considerably more effective in my work. Students go after a heartfelt dream in the Second Year, and I chose to cultivate my creativity as a writer, writing a book draft. All of my self-judgments about not being perfect came forward. I got to see that this was a pattern I ran in all areas of my life. Throughout the project, I learned to be more accepting of myself, and this was one of the most beautiful outcomes. In Second Year, I also decided to leave my job at the Dodgers. Now I work as a project manager for EMI Music Publishing. All of the skills I learned at USM supported me in getting this amazing position. My relationship with my wife has improved significantly. I also parent our two children more consciously.” (

“I have been practicing law for about 16 years and was working at one of the motion picture studios. Even with all the good in my life, I felt so stuck as if everything exciting and new was done and all the decisions had been made. Underneath that stuck feeling was fear of failure, fear of change, fear of uncertainty. In the past, one of the most stressful parts of my job was preparing and going to arbitration.
