Nancie Kohlenberger is currently serving as a Faculty Reader Leader for the First Year at the University of Santa Monica. She has been affiliated with the University of Santa Monica since her graduation from both the Spiritual Psychology and Counseling Psychology Masters's degree programs in 1999.
In prior years, Nancie was a co-facilitator for CP 531 - Spiritual Psychology and Marriage and Family Counseling, and CP 555 - Treatment of Chemical Dependency. She has served as a co-facilitator for CP 545- Spiritual Psychology and Group Process, and she was the sole facilitator for CP 536 - Treating Domestic Violence. Nancie also served as a Faculty Reader leader for the Second Year Spiritual Psychology Program for three years.
Nancie's undergraduate work was done in the State University system in New York where she received a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology and credits towards a minor in Psychology. She also received a Master's Degree in Education at Kent State University in Ohio. She worked in the University system in College Administration during her undergrad years and as a post-graduate.
Nancie has 20 years of experience in the business world in Human Resources and was Director of Human Resources for an advertising agency in New York City. After moving to California in 1995, Nancie was hired as a Senior Career Consultant for Interim Career Counseling. In this capacity, she advanced her counseling career, working with down-sized employees as an outplacement counselor and Senior Trainer.
In addition to Nancie's affiliation at USM, she has a private psychotherapy practice, where she works with men, women, and couples who are choosing to step forward in making their lives richer, fuller, and more satisfying. She uses her USM Basic Skills and Strategies in supporting her clients in living their Ideal Scenes and to take fuller responsibility for how they want their lives to work. Nancie has held positions as Associate Director and Program Supervisor at the Newport Community Counseling Center and Human Options, respectively, in Orange County, California. Nancie's work at these agencies included domestic violence and anger management. She has interfaced with the Orange County Family Court system and has consulted on custody issues.
Nancie's psychotherapy practice is located in Newport Beach, California. She lives in Laguna Niguel, California, with her husband Steve and their darling Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, Tonka and Tobey.
