I desperately wanted to leave and, at the same time, I was afraid of losing 'security.' USM's curriculum taught me that true security is not found in a job; it's within me. “After graduating from USM in 2006, I gave notice at my job in order to create a space for my dream job. I performed my first show in 2007! It sold out, and within a year, I had put myself on the map. I was the headliner for the Boys and Girls Club of America fund-raiser. It was a huge charity show and I was thrilled! Before attending USM, I would not have said that I was a courageous person. Now I'm one of the most courageous people I know! The question that I was forced to ask myself was, 'Do I want to remain in perceived security or really live the way my heart and soul want?' I am more ecstatically happy now than I've ever been. I am so grateful to the University for the gifts I have received. I believe in myself. My show is called Big, Blond, and Beautiful, and it's about living fully . . . how appropriate!” (

“How I related to my art shifted in significant and numerous ways, and my artwork started selling again. Then I was chosen as the winner of the 2006 prestigious 'Lorenzo il Magnifico' gold medal for excellence in photography, which was beyond my belief! I gave the piece that won the award, 'Bridge to Another Reality,' as a gift to the University as a small way to share my gratitude. I couldn't have done this without the skills I learned at the University. USM taught me how to fulfill my true potential!.” (
