Dr. Eileen Norton joined Faculty at the University of Santa Monica in 2007. She serves as a Faculty Reader Leader in the M.A. Program in Spiritual Psychology.
Eileen is a licensed Clinical Psychologist in private practice in Brentwood, Northern California. Eileen specializes in the treatment of mood disorders including depression, and bipolar disorders. She also assists couples in repairing relationships and creating satisfying change as well as working with blended family issues.
As a psychologist, Eileen has written regular columns on gaining and maintaining psychological health for The Brentwood Press and the award-winning 110 Degree magazine. She has also been on staff at an intern training facility and a psychiatric hospital.
Eileen holds a Doctor of Psychology degree from The American Behavioral Studies Institute in Southern California and a Master of Science in Applied Psychology from the University of Santa Monica. She completed post-doctoral training at The Maple Center, in Beverly Hills, California, where she received specialized training in crisis response, family and couples' psychotherapy, group therapy, and psychodynamic modalities.
Prior to becoming a Clinical Psychologist, Eileen was an advertising copywriter creating television commercials for a variety of consumer accounts, including Gallo wines, Ford Cars and Trucks, and Mattel toys.
Eileen lives in Northern California in the town of Brentwood with her husband, Al, three children: John, Aly, and Sarah, and two beagles: Sam and Charlie. She loves traveling, being outdoors, playing tennis, golf, hiking, running, and kayaking and is a gourmet chef-in-training.
