Credentialed as a school counselor and school administrator, he recently retired from nearly thirty years as a school principal in California, working with both high-risk teens and elementary students. His project is to follow his heart’s dream to write and publish young adult novels.
Patric received a Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Santa Monica in the second graduating class. He completed a Master of Arts degree in school counseling from Highlands University of New Mexico. In addition, Patric has been trained in the Ira Progoff journal-writing workshop and is a national trainer in the Human Development Program and the Parent Effectiveness Program. He has also published a manual on journal-writing topics.
Patric has delivered workshops in dropout prevention, self-esteem, team building, and grief counseling in schools throughout California, Iowa, New Mexico, Mexico, and Aruba. His continuation high school in Calexico, California, was honored as the top continuation school in the state in 1983. His most prized awards, however, are the two he received from the University of Santa Monica, “Alumni of the Year” in 1990 and “Angel of the Year” in 2003.
Patric is blessed with having a beautiful family all living in Ojai, California. His wife Margaret, a University of Santa Monica graduate, teaches elementary school. His son Robert works for David Allen Company and is studying for an MFA in poetry writing, and Robert’s wife Valerie is a USM graduate and teaches choral music in the Ojai schools. His daughter Lisa has her B.A. in psychology and completed her Master’s Degree with USM last year. She is being trained as an Insight Facilitator and has a growing productivity/life coaching practice. Patric beams with pride when asked about his family.
