Mary and I are sitting in a meeting with USM’s Founder and Chancellor, John-Roger, sometime in the late 80s.
Then known as KOH-E-NOR University, which means Mountain of Light, Mary and I have been offering small classes for about five years. I’m not sure how we get onto it, but I begin talking to J-R about retiring and before I can complete the sentence, J-R begins sharing, “You will never retire.” He explained that we will work through the University of Santa Monica for the rest of our lives for as long as we are able. He says that the form may change, but we will continue to facilitate and support people who are Awakening.
How right he was, and what a Blessing it was, is, and will continue to be serving at USM!
We are now in our 38th year of classes at USM. March marks the midway point in the second-year program, Life Mastery & Soul-Centered Living II: A 10-Month Certificate Program in Advanced Spiritual Psychology. On Thursday, March 14, less than a week away, the special Soul-Centered Living I Make-up Class commences, which is the last opportunity someone has to join this Program. The number of participants continues to grow—an enheartening indicator of the many people seeking enlivening, experiential education that will assist them in Awakening, Healing, and standing forward in the fullness of their Authentic Self.
As we have announced, this is the last time that Mary and I will be facilitating this life-changing Program in its current format, meaning full three-day weekends throughout the course of nine months with a six-day culminating lab experience.
We are sharing this information to make it obvious that anyone who is called to do this Program—NOW IS THE TIME! This is especially important since the Program itself is at an all-time high due to the growth of consciousness on the planet at this time. If you have and know anyone interested, please do them a favor and remind them of the value of learning experientially and the benefits of living from within a Soul-Centered Context.
With all this talk of this being our last year, we want to be clear, like J-R said, Mary and I will continue sharing the Principles and Practices of Spiritual Psychology through the University of Santa Monica for the rest of our lives, as long as we are able. What is clear to us now is that the time has come for the form to be changing.
When we look ahead, we see what the Dalai Lama calls “Education of the Heart” becoming more and more necessary based on the number of people who are Awakening on the planet at this time. Our response is to focus on formulating and designing Spiritual Psychology programming to serve larger numbers, which also entails training others to carry on this vital work.
USM has always been, and will always be, “School the way you always wished it to be,” which requires us to continuously be re-envisioning USM. What is tried and true will remain, facilitating Awakening by utilizing the Principles and Practices of Spiritual Psychology that empower people to identify and resolve long-held limiting beliefs, judgments, misidentifications, and patterns in service to the deeper revelation of who they truly are—Loving, Peaceful, Compassionate, and Joyful beings. Only such beings have the “Inner Awareness” to assist others both in their physical lives as well as within their Spiritual lives. As you can imagine, we have a tremendous amount of material developed over the years that is ripe for distribution on a larger scale.
We envision offering both online content, which we are calling upon experts in the field to support us in translating the Principles and Practices of Spiritual Psychology into this format so that the transformative quality of this work remains, in combination with live events. One of the most powerful components of USM is the community and the value that is received through the depth of this shared experience.
For those of you who have already taken Programs at USM, Mary and I are also called to continue supporting you on this journey of Awakening by providing opportunities for you to stay connected while engaging in events that support you in plumbing the deeper levels of Advanced Spiritual Psychology.
To you, our beloved USM community, we thank you for your Love and support throughout the past 38 years. This work has, is, and will remain a labor of love for both Mary and me. And we will continue to keep you informed as the vision unfolds. We ask that you hold the University, Mary and me, and the community in the Light as we all continue moving forward into our shared future.
With Loving, Light, and Abundant Gratitude,
Drs. Ron & Mary Hulnick
