💜A Special Message From Ron & Mary! The Time Has Come!

Dear Beloved,

We have so much to share with you, and it seems important to start with how much we love and appreciate each and every one of you.

Whether you graduated from USM 40 or more years ago or just last year, you are a member of this Beloved community. Some of you have served on USM’s faculty or staff. Many of you have volunteered as an assistant or reader when we held USM at 2101 Wilshire, and there are those of you who volunteered and shared your Loving Presence in our virtual classroom over the last few years. And some of you have been loyal donors providing financial support for the University.

Thank you for all the different ways you have participated and for your dedication to learning and living the Principles and Practices of Spiritual Psychology. It has been our greatest joy, honor, and privilege to serve you and this community.

We are writing now to share a few things. Some might be a surprise, and perhaps not.

It has been a great privilege and blessing for Ron and me to serve the University in its ongoing evolution for these past 43 years. John-Roger’s Founder’s Message and his teachings have been a guiding Light providing ongoing inspiration throughout this time. His teachings have informed USM’s offerings and curricula throughout our tenure.

It’s Time

After deep contemplation and attuning to Spirit’s guidance, it has become clear that it’s time for us to complete our roles of leadership at USM. We have sent letters of notification to the University’s Board of Trustees advising them that we will complete on February 29, 2024.

Ron and I are so grateful for the opportunities to serve as instruments of God’s Love, Light, Sound, and Healing Grace. When we answered the call so many years ago, who could have possibly known all of the growth and learning we have received, as well as all the miracles of Healing Grace we have had the privilege of witnessing, along with meeting and getting to know all of the amazing people who have participated in the University’s offerings.

For us, it is the fulfillment of our dream and the invitation John-Roger made to us when he said, “If you ever had a dream of having a school and doing it the way you always wished it would be, here’s your opportunity.”

A Ron Update

Some of you are aware that Ron is experiencing what in physical reality is known as a progressive neurological condition that is affecting his memory and cognition. Spiritually, this condition is a kind of undoing through which his consciousness is elevating as it becomes increasingly untethered.

These cognitive changes mean that while his extraordinary consciousness is still quite extraordinary (and he’s still very much here in many ways), it’s not aligning for him to do the many daily tasks necessary to continue leading the University. His service to USM has been at the highest levels possible, along with his commitment, creativity, leadership, and focus. He will continue to hold the Light, along with sharing his Loving (and, of course, his humor!), just not in the formal role as President of USM.

Mary

For me, I’m simultaneously experiencing the sun setting and also a sun rising. I find this paradoxical, magical, and a bit unsettling—definitely filled with golden opportunities! While this is a time of completion, it’s also a time of new beginnings for me.

And, of course, I’m being called to minister to Ron by being fully Present to the Preciousness of this time with him. It’s also a time of deepening in communion with Spirit.

I will continue to offer mentoring work to a small number of grads. My Ideal Scene for my future includes to continue bringing forward and sharing Spirit-inspired teachings along with other creative projects, including writing. We’ll see what Spirit has for me knowing that, at this time, my priority is Ron and walking this part of our walk together.

Given all of this, for those eligible (Grads of the two-year Program) Journey of the Soul—The Infinity of Love, beginning October 20, is the last Program Ron and I will be facilitating together. We are sharing this information with you so that those of you who are called to be a part of this very special offering at this sacred time at USM can register now to assure your place in this limited-enrollment offering. In fact, we are adding a make-up class for Journey of the Soul to be held on November 3, 4 & 5. You can read more about this glorious and powerful Program here.

Know that we see this as a celebration of all of us, and a final time for Ron and me to be with you, doing deep, revelational work in the Online USM Classroom. We know the energy field will be extraordinary.

Finally, we’d be remiss if we didn’t remind you of what USM’s Chancellor John-Roger shared many years ago: “You are this University of Santa Monica. In that, put the blessings of your heart and your love into it.”

The Principles and Practices of Spiritual Psychology are inside of you. They will work for you as long as you continue using them. Our participation in USM, in this particular way, is completing. There may be sadness and grief about this, which is natural. I (Mary) have certainly had my share. As our friend, David Whyte, has said, “The cure for grief is grieving itself.” Impermanence is the way of the world. What remains is the constancy of the Loving.

USM has been, and will continue to be, one of the greatest loves of our lives. We will be Light Bearers for the University as long as we are on the planet (and likely beyond)!
